Webinar: Closing the gender gap in STEM education. What works?
NESET, in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), is organising a webinar entitled Closing the gender gap in STEM education. What works? which will be held on December 5, from 10:00 to 11:30 (CET).
Despite significant progress in STEM education and growing interest in research and policy aimed at reducing the gender gap in STEM, women remain underrepresented in STEM careers and among graduates across Europe. Addressing this disparity will be one of the key priorities of the upcoming STEM Education Strategic Plan.
In this context, NESET has recently published the Analytical Report Addressing the Gender Gap in STEM Education Across Educational Levels. Based on a literature review, the report provides essential evidence by consolidating current research, policy analyses, and best practices for overcoming gender disparities in STEM education. The report identifies and examines the factors contributing to the gender gap and provides concrete recommendations to address these challenges.
The webinar will provide an opportunity to discuss the report’s finding with one of the authors of the report Maria Evagorou and engage in a conversation with European experts in the STEM field: Agueda Gras Velazquez (Schoolnet/Scientix), Beatrice Boots (STEM Coalition), Jan Lundell (LUMA Centre Finland).
