'Working on skills, what works?' *

We will kick off the second day of the Forum with an interactive talk show with Mr. Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Mr. Robbert Dijkgraaf, Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science, Ms. Gaby Allard, member of the executive board of the VET College of Amsterdam and board member of the Dutch association of VET providers, Ms. Rossella Ricco, senior expert on diversity management at GiGroup (part of the GIVE CoVE) and Ms. Anna Rossband of euro apprentice.

In this European Year of Skills, the CoVes, the EU’s flagship initiative in skills innovation is running since 4 years. So we will discuss with the speakers: what works? Where can we increase our efforts and how can we spread the working models? Focus of the discussion will naturally be on how we can provide today's talent with the skills to build a great tomorrow.

* This talk show will be streamed live. If you would like to receive the streaming link, please register for online participation in the registration form.

Centre of Vocational Excellence Plaza

Since meeting each other is one of the main goals of the Forum on Vocational Excellence, there will be a Centre of Vocational Excellence Plaza in the central hall of Circa. At this plaza you can meet all Erasmus+ Centers of Vocational Excellence, find seating for one on one meetings and demonstrations of good practices. Since the Forum on Vocational Excellence is intertwined with the Dutch Katapult day, gathering all public private partnerships in VET from the Netherlands, the Plaza is also the location where you will meet the Dutch. Throughout the day, you can take a look at the Dutch public private partnerships in VET at the Katapultday. You don't need to book a time slot for this and are welcome any time!

The program is divided into 3 divisions with corresponding age categories in which each child is challenged at their own level. In this way, the children develop their (21st century) skills and are creatively engaged in science and technology. They are inspired to experiment and think critically. Come along and discover the world of lego!

Bean me up!
Within the partnership Green Chain NH is working on shortening and adding value to food chains. One of the chains is that of vegetable protein streams which has been addressed in the Bean me up! project. This involves replacing animal protein with plant-based (protein transition 1.0) locally grown crops (protein transition 2.0). With that, the Bean me up! consortium has already been able to create great products that are already reaching the market (both B2B and B2C). One of the issues that has been tackled in this process was the question of how to remove the bean taste (often perceived as "off-taste") from the ingredient. Several methods are suitable for this purpose: one is fermentation. By fermenting field bean milk into tasty yogurt, an excellent nutritious protein-rich product can be made that passes taste tests with ease. Come taste, and we'll use your judgment to illustrate our Bean me up! result.
