How to establish CoVEs in new emerging industries? Examples from the battery and hydrogen industry

How do we establish CoVEs in emerging industries? 

When we established the Erasmus+ CoVE projects Voltage and H2 Excellence, we were aware of a future skills requirement in the battery and the hydrogen industry; however, in our regions we have encountered various challenges, primarily because the industry we are training for does not yet exist. 

Our workshop will focus on this and will briefly outline: 

• the challenges in our three regions and projects; 
  • Lack of established training standards 
  • Industry fragmentation & uncertainty 
  • Need for cross-sector collaboration 
• successful examples from our regions and projects 
  • Anticipating future skills needs, including teachers training 
  • Engaging key stakeholders early 
  • Creating flexible, modular training approaches 

We will have questions for participants to discuss, both amongst themselves and with the workshop leader. They will be invited to begin considering how, in their own projects, they have encountered similar challenges and approached solutions.
