#Life Long Learning #Building blocks

With a shrinking workforce and rapid technological development, employees of companies and teachers must continue to develop and remain employable. The goal is therefore to develop attractive and relevant post-initial lifelong learning options that fit well with labor market needs, both in terms of technology and 21st century skills.

The starting point is often the improved initial education that educational institutions together with the companies within the PPP have already developed.

Lifelong learning often requires new hybrid forms of informal learning and the PPP builds on the hybrid forms of learning and working that have been developed for regular education.

What’s it all about?

  • Develop attractive and relevant lifelong learning or  post-initial options that meet the labor market’s needs, both in terms of technology and 21st century skills.

What happens next?

  • This can be done in many shapes and sizes: from formal or qualified to non-formal. In terms of content, the starting point is often the updated initial education the educational institutions together with the companies within the PPP have already developed. From there, new options are developed both in terms of form and target group.

What kinds of partners are required?

  • Lifelong learning requires more flexibility from educational institutions, such as a modular approach and evening hours. The business partners deliver participants. If possible, R&D funds and business schools seek corporations.
  • Larger companies often have a good idea of the need and how to shape it. If there is a high degree of organization, R&D funds can be increased.

What kinds of agreements do you need to make?

  • Agreements on freeing up teachers, agreements on the supplying employees for further training.
  • Informally, agreements on innovative business assignments.

Where can I find a good example?
